13-Year-Old Is the First Person to Ever Beat TETRIS; Watch His Reaction! — GeekTyrant
Feb 3, 2024
34 years ago, Tetris was released on NES, and after all this time, a 13-year-old teen known as Blue Scuti is the very first person to actually beat the game! That’s pretty freakin’ incredible and it’s a lot of fun watching his reaction as he beats the game! Unlike some other versions of Tetris, this release doesn’t have an official ending sequence or final goal to achieve. To beat it, you have to keep playing until the game crashes when you reach certain conditions. One of those includes a single-line clear on level 157, which has a 73.33% chance of crashing the game. That’s exactly what Blue Scuti managed to do. He beat Tetris by breaking it. Because Tetris’s kill screen only activates under certain conditions, you can theoretically keep playing indefinitely as long as you avoid those conditions. There is a more impressive way to beat Tetris, though. That is by not getting the kill screen at all and crashing the game. If a player can get to level 255, the game will loop back to level 1, which is considered to be the truer ending. But, that has only been accomplished by tool-assisted speedrun creators.Anyway, watch the video below and enjoy the reaction of Blue Scuti as he hits the kill screen. The video also offers an in-depth explanation of how all of this works.
