Amy Adams Developing New TV Series Based On Rosie Walsh’s Novel
Dec 19, 2022
It’s been more than four years since the debut of Amy Adams’ last big TV performance in HBO’s “Sharper Objects.” That role earned her massive acclaim, including an Emmy nomination, and was considered one of the best series of 2018. Well, it’s been a while but it appears Adams is ready to make a return to TV with another series that could earn her some awards season recognition.

According to Deadline, Amy Adams is developing a series based on Rosie Walsh’s novel, “Love of My Life,” which she would produce and also star in. The series tells the story of an obituary writer, who investigates the story of his wife’s life, which is a lie, after she suffers a major illness. The project is still in the early stages of development, but Adams clearly is looking for another starring vehicle for herself and a return to prestige TV in the future.
Honestly, it’s been a bit of a quiet couple of years for Adams in terms of quality projects. After her starring role in 2020’s “Hillbilly Elegy,” the actress’ only major new films of the past couple of years have been “Dear Evan Hansen,” which was destroyed by critics, “The Woman in the Window,” which had a ton of behind-the-scenes drama and delays, and “Disenchanted,” which debuted on Disney+ only recently.

While Adams is still seen as one of the biggest names and most talented people in Hollywood, we’re ready to see the actress grace us with a true return-to-form performance. Here’s hoping her upcoming film, “Nightbitch,” is that project.
Obviously, it’s far too soon to know when we might see “Love of My Life” arrive on TV or where it might end up, but with Adams on board, you have to assume there will be no shortage of distributors itching to get their hands on it.
