The upcoming Marvel sequel, Deadpool 3, has found its villain, with The Crown star Emma Corrin all set to join proceedings. As revealed by Deadline, details of Corrin’s role in the comic book movie outing currently remain a mystery, but it has been revealed that they will play one of the villains of the piece opposite Ryan Renolds and Hugh Jackman as the antihero duo, Deadpool and Wolverine.

In fact, Reynolds has since taken to social media to welcome Corrin to the Deadpool family saying, “New addition to the family! The Deadpool family, for clarity. Which is just like a real family except with less swearing… Welcome, Emma Corrin!”

Best known for starring as Diana, Princess of Wales in the fourth season of the Netflix series The Crown, Emma Corrin has also starred in the likes of Grantchester and Pennyworth on the small screen, as well as Misbehaviour, My Policeman, and Lady Chatterley’s Lover on the big screen. Corrin was met with critical acclaim for their performance in The Crown, ultimately winning a Critics’ Choice Television Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award, among others.

While more specific details of Corrin’s role in Deadpool 3 remain a mystery at this time, they will no doubt make a very welcome addition to the Marvel sequel. So, let the theories and speculation commence…

Deadpool 3 Will Find the Character Joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Deadpool 3 will be the first outing for the Merc With a Mouth to occur since Disney’s acquisition of Fox. Thus, Deadpool will finally join the MCU in the upcoming threequel. While plot details for Deadpool 3 remain a mystery at this stage, it is expected that the sequel will find Wade and Logan embarking on a road trip together. Reynolds took to social media back in 2021 to reveal the idea he had in mind for the Deadpool threequel saying, “It’s critical to have open, honest and healthy discussions around mental health. By retweeting #BellLetsTalk you can make a difference. In case that’s not enough, before Disney bought Fox, Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real.”

Further rumors and theories have even suggested that Deadpool 3 will take the most meta-approach so far in the franchise. Using the madness of the multiverse, it has been suggested that Wade and Logan will embark on a road trip in an attempt to escape the Fox universe and enter the Marvel one before the former collapses for good.

Corrin joins a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Logan aka Wolverine. Jackman’s return came as a major surprise, with the actor having stated in the past that 2017’s Logan would be his last appearance as the beloved character. But, return he will, with the actor recently revealing how he is getting back in shape to play the Marvel superhero.

Directed by Shawn Levy and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool 3 is now scheduled to be released on November 8, 2024.
