As well as the glorious news of a release date and our first look poster, Good Omens creator and author Neil Gaiman has also collaborated with superfans Hilly & Hannah Hindi of The Hillywood Show for a parody video, “Good Omens Parody,” as part of the 33rd anniversary of the publishing of the original novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Paying tribute to the series, the video should have fans of Good Omens even more excited about the show’s return than they already are.

Based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel, the first series of Good Omens introduced audiences to Michael Sheen and David Tennant as Aziraphale and Crowley, an angel and a demon, who over 6000-years have formed a bond that transcends their respective sides in the holy war. Picking up in 2018, the long-time angel and demon acquaintances have grown accustomed to life on Earth as representatives of Heaven and Hell but must seek to prevent the coming of the Antichrist and thus Armageddon, in the final battle between Heaven and Hell.

Good Omens Season 2 Finds Neil Gaiman Crafting an Entirely Original Story
Prime Video
Originally intended as a limited series, the global success and enthusiastic response to the first season has resulted in co-creator Neil Gaiman (The Sandman) satisfying fans’ hunger for more on-screen adventures of the beloved unholy duo with an entirely original story. And while details of the plot have remained a mystery, Gaiman has now peeled back the curtain just a little on what audiences can expect…
Thus, the second season of Good Omens explores storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living among mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.
Good Omens season two stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, respectively. Also reprising their roles are Jon Hamm as archangel Gabriel, Doon Mackichan as archangel Michael, and Gloria Obianyo as archangel Uriel. Returning this season in new roles are Miranda Richardson as demon Shax, Maggie Service as Maggie, and Nina Sosanya as Nina, with new faces joining the misfits in Heaven and Hell: Liz Carr as angel Saraqael, Quelin Sepulveda as angel Muriel, and Shelley Conn as demon Beelzebub.
Neil Gaiman continues as executive producer and co-showrunner along with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who also returned to direct all six episodes. “It’s 31 years since Good Omens was published, which means it’s 32 years since Terry Pratchett and I lay in our respective beds in a Seattle hotel room at a World Fantasy Convention, and plotted the sequel,” Gaiman said in a statement.
Good Omens season two will consist of six episodes and will debut exclusively on Prime Video on July 28.
