Shazam! Fury of the Gods Poster Further Teases DC Sequel’s Release Next Month

The latest poster for the upcoming DC sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, finds Zachary Levi taking center stage as the superhero wields the wizard’s magic staff. The poster comes courtesy of Dolby, who also reveal that tickets for Shazam! Fury of the Gods are now on sale. Check out the new poster, which depicts a particularly heroic looking Shazam, below.

From New Line Cinema comes Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which continues the story of teenager Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!,” is transformed into his adult superhero alter ego, Shazam. The sequel finds Billy Batson and his foster siblings, who can also now transform into superheroes, forced to get back into action and fight the Daughters of Atlas. They must stop them from using a weapon that could destroy the world.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods sees both Zachary Levi and Asher Angel return as Shazam and Billy Batson respectively. The rest of the cast includes Jack Dylan Grazer (It Chapter Two) as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody (Promising Young Woman) as Super Hero Freddy; Ross Butler (Raya and the Last Dragon) as Super Hero Eugene; Meagan Good (Day Shift) as Super Hero Darla; D.J. Cotrona (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) as Super Hero Pedro; Grace Caroline Currey (Annabelle: Creation) as Mary Bromfield and Super Hero Mary; Faithe Herman (This Is Us) as Darla Dudley; Ian Chen (A Dog’s Journey) as Eugene Choi; Jovan Armand (Second Chances) as Pedro Pena; Marta Milans (White Lines) as Rosa Vasquez; Cooper Andrews (The Walking Dead) as Victor Vasquez; with Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place Part II) as the Wizard.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods Adds Helen Mirren & Lucy Liu as the Villains

As well as adding all manner of dragons and other mythical beasts to the fray, Shazam! Fury of the Gods will also bring Academy Award winner Helen Mirren and Kill Bill star Lucy Liu into the world of DC. The pair will play the villains of the piece, the Daughters of Atlas, with Mirren starring as Hespera and Liu starring as Kalypso. West Side Story star Rachel Zegler will also star in Shazam! Fury of the Gods as the third daugher of Atlas, Anthea, who fights to help Shazam and his family in stopping her siblings from whatever world-ending dealings they have planned.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is directed once again by David F. Sandberg, produced by Peter Safran (Aquaman, The Suicide Squad), and written by Henry Gayden (Shazam!) and Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Fate of the Furious). Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to open in theaters internationally beginning 15 March 2023 and in North America on March 17, 2023.

The fate of Shazam! following the release of Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently unknown, with the DC cinematic universe all set to be rebooted as the DCU by filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran.
