The Flash is ‘Incredible’ & Will ‘Blow Minds’ Declare DC Comic Writers
Jun 15, 2023
Celebrated comic book writing duo, Jeff Lanzing and Collin Kelly, have heaped praise on director Andy Muschietti’s upcoming The Flash, calling the DC outing “incredible.” Speaking with ComicBook.com, Lanzing declared that The Flash will “blow minds” when it lands in theaters if even half of what he has heard happens in the movie comes true.
“I know too much about that movie, I can’t talk about it. I know secrets none of you know! I gotta be super chill when it comes to The Flash. All of this to say: I’m psyched.”
While Lanzing and Kelly have yet to see The Flash the writers, who are best known for the likes of Kang The Conqueror, Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty and Batman: One Bad Day – Clayface, do have an inside track, knowing plenty of people who are very much in the know. Asked exactly how much The Flash will “blow minds,” Lanzing stated…

“Ten. Ten. I think that if even half the stuff I’ve heard is true, from people who should know… ten. Insane. Complete madness. But I also hear the movie is like, incredible.”
This certainly echoes al the positivity that has flowed towards The Flash of late, with the DC outing being compared to the likes of The Dark Knight as well as Guardians of the Galaxy and now DC Studios co-chief James Gunn calling it “one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.”

The Flash Will Unleash the DC Multiverse
Warner Bros.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, The Flash will take major inspiration from the DC comic book arc, Flashpoint and sees the multiverse collapse after Barry Allen travels back in time in an attempt to prevent his mother’s murder.
“Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past,” the official synopsis for The Flash reads. “But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”
The Flash finds Zack Snyder’s Justice League star Ezra Miller reprising the role of Barry Allen, aka The Flash, alongside Sasha Calle as Supergirl and Michael Shannon as General Zod, as well as Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, and Antje Traue. The Flash will also feature two versions of The Dark Knight, with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice star Ben Affleck due to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, alongside Michael Keaton, who will once again don the cape and cowl after more than three decades.
The Flash is now scheduled to have its world premiere at CinemaCon on April 25, 2023, before being released theatrically on June 16, 2023.
