Fantastic Four Will Be Surprising, Promises MCU Producer
Jun 18, 2023
Marvel producer Nate Moore has offered a few more cryptic clues regarding the introduction of The Fantastic Four to the MCU. Speaking with Deadline, Moore teased the surprising direction that the Fantastic Four movie will take when it lands in theaters in 2025. Yes, we still have a little while to wait. Check out what Nate Moore said below.
“Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four. We have Matt Shakman directing, who’s so talented and who did WandaVision for us, and I think people are going to be pretty surprised by what we’re doing.”
At present, cryptic clues and other such vague pieces of information are largely all we have gotten for the Fantastic Four movie. We still have no idea who will play Marvel’s first family, who debuted in the pages of Marvel Comics way back in 1961. Comprised of Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, a scientific genius who can stretch his body into incredible lengths and shapes; Susan “Sue” Storm aka the Invisible Woman, who can render herself invisible and project force fields and blasts; Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, who can surround himself with flames and fly; and Ben Grimm aka The Thing, whose body is turned to stone, Marvel fans have been awaiting the arrival of the Fantastic Four for some time.

One thing we do know is that the Fantastic Four will not be an origin story, with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige reasoning that “a lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before? We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

The Fantastic Four Will be Introduced in Phase Six
Marvel Studios
One member of the Fantastic Four has already made his MCU debut, with The Office star John Krasinski portraying the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Despite this, we do not yet know who will play the superhero family in their solo outing, with Krasinski not expected to reprise the role.
A recent report has claimed that the casting is now being worked on, with the studio focussing on “casting Sue Storm first and building out the rest of team after she is set.” Fantastic Four will be introduced in Phase Six of the MCU, on February 14, 2025 to be precise, alongside the likes of Deadpool 3, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars.
While we await what surprises Fantastic Four will have in store, we still have Phase Five to look forward to, which has now begun thanks to the critically divisive Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The Ant-Man sequel will be followed up by another sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, on May 5, and finds Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, leading the Guardians on one last dangerous mission to protect one of their members that could lead to the team dissolving.
The rest of the phase includes The Marvels, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, and the Blade reboot, all of which are due for release across 2023 and 2024, as well as What If…? Season 2, Secret Invasion, Loki Season 2, Ironheart, Echo, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Daredevil: Born Again, which are due for release on Disney+.
