The Comedy Series Starring Jake Johnson & Ophelia Lovibond Moves From Max To Starz For New Episodes

Jul 17, 2023

The story of how “Minx” Season 2 was moved to Starz is almost as interesting as the content in the actual show. You see, after Season 2 had been shot, Warner Bros. Discovery decided to cancel the show and remove it from its streaming service. This meant that all the hard work that was put into Season 2 might have been lost forever. Thankfully, Starz swooped in and was able to save the show, giving the retro comedy a home and a new lease on life.

And as seen in the trailer for Season 2 of “Minx,” the series is really firing on all cylinders as it picks up where Season 1 left off, but seems to amp up the sheer number of penises in the series. At least, that’s what the trailer wants you to believe. The series tells the story of two people who started Minx, an erotic magazine aimed at women, as their little start-up company grows to something much bigger. They decide to start branching out into more industries than just print, and that’s when the drama (and hilarity) really begin.
The series stars Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson. “Minx” is written, created, and showrun by Ellen Rapoport.
“Minx” Season 2 debuts on its new home, Starz, on July 21. You can watch the NSFW trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
After Doug and Joyce sell Bottom Dollar to a retired shipping magnate, Minx becomes a commercial success. Under new leadership, Doug struggles to maintain his control within Bottom Dollar while Joyce loses sight of her core beliefs as she rises to stardom. As our Bottom Dollar misfits go mainstream, they start to question who they’re becoming and what they really want from this newfound success.
