‘We Know the Full Truth’ (Video)
Dec 25, 2022
Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are finally telling all about their decision to step away from the British royal family in a new docuseries called Harry & Meghan.
“No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth,” Harry says in the trailer for the Netflix docuseries, the first episode of which premieres on Dec. 8.
Netflix promises that the docuseries will offer the “unprecedented and in-depth” story behind the phenomenon called “Megxit,” when Harry and Meghan gave up their official His and Her Royal Highness (HRH) titles and stopped receiving public funds as working senior royals in early 2020. However, they are still the Duke and Duchess and Sussex, and Harry continues to be fifth in line to the British royal throne, according to the official website for the British royal family.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story. Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution. With commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press, the series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other,” reads Netflix’s official description of the series.

Harry & Meghan is directed by Liz Garbus, and features interviews with Harry and Meghan in their own words.
“It’s really hard to look back on it now and go, what on earth happened?” Harry says in the trailer. “Everything changed. There’s a hierarchy of the family. There’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories. It’s a dirty game.”
“I realized they’re never going to protect you,” Meghan says.
“Pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution — this feeding frenzy…
I was terrified,” Harry says, referring to his mother, the late Princess Diana, and her struggles in her marriage to his father, King Charles III. “I didn’t want history to repeat itself.”
