SNL’s Sarah Sherman and Kenan Thompson Spotted In Chucky Season 3 Trailer

Sep 30, 2023

Summary

Chucky is back with new friends in the third season of the hit horror comedy, including Jake, Devon, Lexy, and Caroline. The new season takes place in the White House, where Chucky is pursuing power, and Tiffany is in prison for her crimes. Andy, Chucky’s original owner, returns in Season 3 and is tied to a bed alongside Caroline, who is reading Voodoo for Dummies.

Chucky (Brad Dourif) is back, and he’s going to be joined by some new friends coming live from New York. While the previous teaser for the hit horror comedy’s third season focused on the titular doll and Devon Sawa playing his fourth character on the show, the President of the United States, this new trailer focused on the other characters who’ll appear in the season. Such as Chucky’s nemeses Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and new friend till the end Caroline.

Here’s a synopsis of the new season:

“In Chucky’s unending thirst for power, season 3 now sees Chucky ensconced with the most powerful family in the world —America’s First Family, inside the infamous walls of the White House. How did Chucky wind up here? What in God’s name does he want? And how can Jake, Devon, and Lexy possibly get to Chucky inside the world’s most secure house, all while balancing the pressures of romantic relationships and growing up? Meanwhile, Tiffany faces a looming crisis of her own as the police close in on her for ‘Jennifer Tilly’s’ murderous rampage last season.”

Two newcomers who appear to be special guest stars in the latest series are Saturday Nigh Live cast members Sarah Sherman and Kenan Thompson. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but Sherman can be seen playing someone attending a costume party at the White House. This is following the actor playing Chucky in an SNL sketch with Jake Gyllenhaal. Thompson appears at the very end of the trailer playing a cabbie giving Chucky and Caroline a ride. Unlike Sherman, we get to see Thompson have a little back and forth with the doll, asking “What are you guys talking about” and Chucky answering him back.

The new trailer also reveals what happened to Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), whose survival was left up in the air during the cliffhanger ending of season two. She’s alive, which is perhaps not that big a surprise, and currently in prison for all the crimes she committed while inhabiting the body of Jennifer Tilly (which is actually herself – it’s a long story). We see that Tiffany is still as vain as ever, since she seemed to have been tricked into allowing Lexy to visit her in jail claiming to be a producer from Dateline.

The new trailer also reveals that we haven’t seen the last of Chucky’s O.G. owner Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), which some might be surprised by given how ready he was to walk off into the sunset the last time we saw him in Season 2. In Season 3, we see that Chucky has tied Andy to a bed just like he did in Child’s Play 2. Nearby is Caroline, reading Voodoo for Dummies.

As was the case with many shows that have come out lately, Chucky Season 3 has been split into two parts. Part 1 is scheduled to air starting on October 4 while Part 2 will premiere sometime in 2024. In the meantime, fans have this new trailer to enjoy.
