Out of all of Taylor Sheridan‘s TV shows, “Lioness,” his upcoming CIA drama for Paramount+, might be the most intriguing. And why’s that? Well, for one, it’s not associated with “Yellowstone,” like “1883,” “1923,” or the forthcoming “6666.” And the show’s plot, about a marine recruited by the CIA to infiltrate a terrorist group, returns Sheridan to a world similar to his breakout movie “Sicario” from 2015. And with Zoe Saldaña leading the cast, what’s not to love about this project?

But now there’s another for “Lioness” to pique the interest of TV audiences. Variety reports that Nicole Kidman, who was already on board “Lioness” as an executive producer, joins the cast of the upcoming series. Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade on the upcoming series, “the CIA’s Senior Supervisor who has had a long career of playing the politics game,” describes Variety. “She must juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community, a wife that longs for the attention she herself can’t even give and a mentor to someone veering suspiciously close to the same rocky road she’s found herself on.”
“Lioness” is Kidman’s latest TV role after heralded performances in HBO‘s “Big Little Lies” and “The Undoing,” Hulu‘s “Nine Perfect Strangers,” and Jane Campion‘s BBC Two series “Top Of The Lake.” Kidman won an Emmy for “Big Little Lies,” and also received an Emmy nom for HBO‘s 2012 TV film “Hemingway & Gellhorn.” Recent film roles for Kidman include “Being The Ricardos,” which earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination and Robert Eggers‘ “The Northman.” Upcoming film roles include “Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom,” out in December.
Given Variety’s description of her role, expect Kidman to receive sizable screentime next to “Lioness” leads Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira. The upcoming series also stars Jill Wagner, Dave Annable, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Hannah Love Lanier, Stephanie Nur, and Jonah Wharton.  
With Kidman’s addition, Taylor Sheridan’s TV empire gets even more star power. And there are still more projects ahead for Sheridan. Along with “6666,” there’s also “Land Man” with Billy Bob Thornton on the way, as well as a secret project with, as Sheridan describes it, “four of the biggest movie stars alive in it.” Also, don’t forget that Season 2 of “Mayor Of Kingston” premieres on Paramount+ on January 15. As for the premiere date for “Lioness”? Stay tuned for that.
