With the festive season almost coming to an end, fans of TV shows have another reason to seek entertainment, especially if they have exhausted all the options of streaming holiday specials. That’s where the monthly streaming schedules of platforms like AMC+ come in, ensuring TV enthusiasts have a great month ahead despite the fact that they will have to wait another year for a new batch of holiday movies and shows.

AMC+ has seen many intriguing TV series in December 2023, including Pan Am, The Killing, and The Lovers, most of which are still airing weekly. However, the streamer has released an entirely new lineup of TV shows for its users to binge in the next month. With that in mind, here is a list of every TV series coming to AMC+ in January 2024.

The Lovers

The Lovers is a charming, underrated romance comedy series starring Johnny Flynn and Roisin Gallagher that premiered on Dec. 7, with the remaining seven episodes out of eleven scheduled to air by Feb. 8. The show has garnered positive reviews thus far, with a fascinating blend of humor and dark elements.

It tells the story of Janet, a woman who works at a supermarket and is uninterested in anything, even her own life. However, everything changes when she meets Seamus, a famous political broadcaster also drawn to her peculiar personality. Will the imperfectly matched couple be able to make their relationship work despite the difficulties they face along the road?

Dietland

Dietland, based on Sarai Walker’s acclaimed 2015 novel of the same name, is a ten-part dark comedy series that premiered in 2018 but was never renewed for a second season. Nonetheless, as quoted by AMC+ on its release schedule, it is a perfect New Year’s Day binge series. The plot revolves around Plum Kettle, a ghostwriter who works for the editor of one of New York’s finest fashion magazines and suffers from low self-esteem.

After being fed up with society and her personal life, she embarks on a journey of self-improvement in the hopes of turning her life around. At the same time, news reports about men accused of sexual assault disappearing spread like wildfire, and Plum somehow finds herself caught in the middle of it all. All episodes of Dietland will be available on AMC+ on Jan. 1.

Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale

The best movies about witches always catch the audience’s attention. For fans who enjoy eerie films about witchcraft, the upcoming Sundance Now original TV series Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale could be what you’re looking for. The story is set in a small town in the United Kingdom that flourishes on the combined efforts of its residents. The Fenn family, consisting of Sarah, Harper, and others, have long been regarded as respected witches who have always done good.

However, when Harper attends a night party, a sudden accident results in the death of a young boy, which many assume was caused by witchcraft. With the entire town accusing the Fenn family of the boy’s murder, how will Harper prove her innocence while catching the true perpetrator? The first two episodes of Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale will be released on Jan. 4, with the remaining episodes airing every Thursday until the season concludes on Feb. 8.

Monsieur Spade

Sam Spade is among the most well-known and coolest detective characters, alongside Sherlock Holmes, Philip Marlowe, and Hercule Poirot. The Academy Award nominee and BAFTA winner, Clive Owen, is set to play Spade in the upcoming series Monsieur Spade. The series, created and executive produced by Scott Frank, takes place in 1963 when the famous detective, Sam Spade, has retired and is living a serene life in the French community of Bozouls.

However, the return of old adversaries and the murder of six nuns in his town derails his post-retirement plans. Spade returns to action, convinced that all these murders are linked, but is he still the same man he was in his prime? This six-part series will premiere on AMC+ on Jan. 14, with episodes streaming weekly.

Preacher

As he finds himself in the center of a world filled with figures from Heaven and Hell, he is soon joined by his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy. Preacher is genuinely one of the best supernatural series around, and the entire series will be available on AMC+ on Jan. 18.
