Sam Asghari’s Rare Comments On Britney Spears Divorce
Since the pair parted ways, Sam’s been pretty quiet about the whole deal. Earlier this year, he broke his silence to People and referred to their brief relationship as a “blessing.” “People grow apart and people move on,” he added.
Well, in a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Sam’s talking a little bit more about Britney — specifically, why he doesn’t talk that much about her or their relationship.
In the interview, Sam reveals that he chose not to read Britney’s memoir The Woman in Me from last year “because I was there.” Fair enough!
“When something ends, of course, there’s going to be a moment where you are sad or upset, but just be happy that it ever even happened,” he later said regarding the dissolution of their marriage. “Celebrate the past. That’s how I look at it.”
Sam also chose not to directly address whether he signed an NDA after their split, but he also claimed that an NDA wouldn’t be necessary regardless. “If my life is private, it’s private,” he explained. “It’s just the values that I have.”
He also seemingly gestured toward her conservatorship, which was dissolved in 2021. “There were so many bad people in their life that took advantage of this person,” he said.
But wait — there’s more! A “friend” of Sam’s also gave a quote or two to THR about their own perspective of what went down in his marriage to Britney.
“I really don’t know too many details,” the friend explained. “Sam always handled it in an honorable, mature way. But what actually happened? I wouldn’t be privileged to know.”
And we probably never will, which is fine. Sometimes the past truly is just the past!
