The show’s new sneak peek doesn’t too much away, but it boats new footage from the upcoming season.  Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman return for Season 2, which sees the Lioness program focus on a target closer to US borders and requires them to enlist a new recruit for their team.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Lioness” Season 2, courtesy of Paramount+:
As the CIA’s fight against terror moves closer to home, Joe, Kaitlyn, and Byron enlist a new Lioness operative to infiltrate a previously unknown threat. With pressure mounting from all sides, Joe is forced to confront the profound personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program.
Michael Kelly and Morgan Freeman also return for “Lioness Season 2,” with Genesis Rodriguez joining the cast as Captain Josephina Carrillo. The new season also stars Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, and Austin Hébert.  Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier round out the main cast.
Saldaña and Kidman join the show’s executive production team this season, which includes Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox.
As “Yellowstone” fans await that series’ finale, “Lioness” should serve Taylor Sheridan fans well. And Sheridan’s CIA thriller is no slouch either: the show’s first season scored high marks from critics.  Take a look at the sneak peek at “Lioness” Season 2 below before the new season premieres on October 27.
