Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell’s plans for the future are très exciting.

And as The Summer Book writer and director revealed, he and the Emily in Paris star can see themselves expanding their family in the coming years.

“We would like to,” Charlie, 41, told E! News in an exclusive interview at the AFI premiere of his movie The Summer Book Oct. 27. “We would like to move into that next stage, so we’ll see when it happens!”

For now, the pair who have been married for three years, are busy making movie magic together on The Summer Book, which Lily is an executive producer on. And while she couldn’t be there in-person during the screening, the Dear White People director has felt her support throughout the entire movie-making process.

“I would fall into a dark hole of nothingness without her,” he gushed. “She’s amazing. She was there the whole time we were shooting in Finland and supporting as a partner and also as an executive producer.”
