Ben Stiller To Star In New Series Adaptation Of Acclaimed Documentary
Feb 7, 2023
For the past several years, Ben Stiller has focused almost completely on his filmmaking career. The acting roles have dwindled to almost entirely bit parts in films or quick cameos. But it appears that Stiller is ready to take on a brand new starring role in what might be one of the most challenging film gigs of his career.

According to Variety, Ben Stiller is set to star in the upcoming TV series, “Three Identical Strangers,” based on the documentary of the same name. As the title implies, the series will follow the incredible true story of three grown men who come to find out they are identical triplets who were separated at birth. And yes, Stiller would portray all three brothers. The series comes from writer Amy Lippman, who will also serve as producer and showrunner. She’s probably best known for co-creating the rebooted “Party of Five” series from a couple of years back. She’s also worked on shows such as “Masters of Sex” and “In Treatment.”

As mentioned, Stiller’s work most recently has been in the realm of filmmaking. And interestingly, he has dabbled in quite a bit of TV over that time, most notably with series such as “Escape at Dannemora” and the Apple TV+ hit, “Severance.” As far as acting goes, it’s been small roles in films over the past five-ish years. His most recent large acting roles were back in 2017 with “The Meyerowitz Stories” and “Brad’s Status.”
It’s still very early and it’s unclear when the series adaptation of “Three Identical Strangers” will be released. However, with Stiller attached, this is definitely going to be a series that you won’t want to miss. You can see the trailer for the doc below:
