Jamie Lee Curtis Wants to See John Stamos Play a Handsome Supervillain in the MCU

Dec 8, 2022

John Stamos’ desire to join the MCU has the backing of his Scream Queens co-star Jamie Lee Curtis.

FOX

Recent comments from John Stamos have Jamie Lee Curtis supporting the idea of bringing the actor into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Speaking with Collider in an August interview, Stamos suggested he would be up for joining the MCU “in a flash.” He noted that he’s especially interested in doing so after voicing the animated version of Iron Man in the children’s show Spidey and His Amazing Friends.

To promote the release of Halloween Ends, Curtis appeared for a new interview on The Drew Barrymore Show. Discussing our MovieWeb article about Stamos’ comments, Curtis was asked by Barrymore what superpower she thinks her Scream Queens co-star should have if he were to become a Marvel superhero. For her part, Curtis could only suggest that he play a “really handsome” character.

“Wow. Is there a really handsome Marvel character? Because John Stamos is just drop it handsome. Are there hot Marvels?”

Curtis praises Stamos for being so kind and warm behind the scenes, feeling that this would make it even better if he were to play a more dastardly character rather than a superhero if he ever gets the call from Marvel Studios.

“I would then make him mean. I think what also would be fun is to flip it and make him not… because he is already a superhero. The truth of the matter is John is a superhero. He couldn’t love life more. He couldn’t love his kid more. He loves being John. I do (want to see him be the bad guy). But I would still like him to be a really hot bad guy. Really nasty.”

John Stamos Voices Iron Man in an Animated Series

Disney Junior

These days, Stamos can be seen in a starring role in the Disney+ series Big Shot, though he also recently took on the role of a Marvel superhero. He provides the voice of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in Spidey and His Amazing Friends, making his debut in the role this year. Providing voiceover work for the cartoon does get the actor’s foot in the door, so to speak, with getting on Marvel’s radar. Maybe with the added endorsement from Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Feige may be inspired to make that phone call to Stamos soon.

As for Curtis, she previously made headlines by playfully poking fun at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness while it was playing in theaters alongside her film Everything Everywhere All at Once. Curtis later told PEOPLE that she would “of course” do a Marvel movie if she were to be offered. Who knows, maybe she will get the chance to reunite with Stamos in the MCU.
