Penn Badgley Is Back For More Serial Killer Goodness

Feb 15, 2023

Netflix is still releasing pretty much everything (outside of some reality shows) in their patented binge model. All of the episodes, all at once. Well, kinda. You see, Netflix has developed a workaround to that, a loophole, if you will. Releasing series, such as “You” in “parts.” No, not episodes. How dare you even insinuate such a thing!? These are parts! Totally different.

So, now we have the trailer for “You” Season 4 Part 2. Instead of releasing one of the streamer’s biggest series all at once, only getting one social media buzz cycle and only one media blitz, Netflix split “You” Season 4 into two parts. Best of all, much like Netflix did with “Stranger Things,” there isn’t even a huge wait between parts, which lends credence to the argument that this is just a bypass to the binge model and allows Netflix to hold onto the “episodic releases suck” mantra that the executives probably chant in their hallways.
So yeah, “You” Season 4 Part 2 is just the second half of the latest season of “You.” I’m going to go out on a limb and say that if you haven’t watched Part 1, you probably shouldn’t watch Part 2. So, therefore, you already know what to expect. Handsome Penn Badgley making people question whether or not they’d have sex with a serial killer. That’s the basic idea, right?
Joining Badgley in the cast are Tati Gabrielle, Charlotte Ritchie, Lukas Gage, Ed Speleers, Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Niccy Lin, Aidan Cheng, Brad Alexander, Ozioma Whenu, and Eve Austin. Once again, “You” is showrun by co-creator and producer, Sera Gamble.
“You” Season 4 Part 2 debuts on Netflix on March 9. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
After his previous life went up in flames, Joe Goldberg has fled to Europe to escape his “messy” past, adopt a new identity, and, of course, to pursue true love. But Joe soon finds himself in the strange new role of reluctant detective as he discovers he may not be the only killer in London. Now, his future depends on identifying and stopping whoever’s targeting his new friend group of uber-wealthy socialites…
