Pedro Pascal Says He “Can’t See S**t!” While Wearing the Mandalorian Helmet — GeekTyrant
Feb 17, 2023
Right now, we’re all enjoying Pedro Pascal in HBO’s incredible series adaptation of The Last of Us. He’s so good in that series, but after that, we’re going to see him back in action as Mando in Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian Season 3! Pascal brings some badass swagger to that role, and the costume he gets to wear is so cool! But, it turns out that he can’t see a damn thing while wearing it! During a recent interview with Empire, Pascal explained what it’s like wearing the armor saying:“It’s like putting on a head-to-toe glove with weights on it. It’s ironic that you can’t see any facial expression because it puts you in the world so completely, and instantly makes the character feel real — but you can’t see shit!” He went on to explain that the creative team has continued to make the suit more comfortable, but it still doesn’t help with seeing:“They’ve continued to finesse and make it more comfortable, but it’s like going blind. Your breath completely fogs up the narrow slit that you can see through. There’s no peripheral vision. If there’s a hole, I’m gonna fall into it.”Well, hopefully, there aren’t a lot of holes on the set! Regardless of not being able to see, Pascal still feels invincible wearing the suit! He says: “When it’s on, you immediately feel powerful, protected, dangerous and like a protector.”Yeah, wearing that suit has got to be pretty awesome, but it’s not the most practical, especially if you can’t see anything! But, it all works out in the end and you’d never know that Mando can’t see through that helmet. In Season 3 of the series, “The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.”This third season sees the journey of Din Djarin traveling to Mandalore where Mando hopes that he will be “forgiven for his transgressions.” It also sees Mando stepping into a leadership position, and Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) is dealing with the disappointment of not taking back the Darksaber. The series also stars Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito. The directors of the eight-episode Season 3 include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard. The Mandalorian returns for its third season March 1st on Disney+. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni wrote and produced the series.
