The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four reboot is reportedly looking to start casting the iconic team very soon for the Phase 6 movie.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four reboot is reportedly looking to start casting the iconic team very soon. As the Multiverse Saga progresses, the MCU is getting ready to introduce one of the most iconic teams from Marvel Comics. After having been with 21st Century Fox for over a decade before the rights reverted to Marvel Studios, a new Fantastic Four franchise is in the works. It has been a long-time coming for Marvel’s First Family as various heroes have wrapped their time in the MCU. WandaVision director Matt Shakman is set to helm the highly anticipated reboot.

Thus far, a lot of details have been kept under wraps about the MCU’s take on the Fantastic Four. However, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has stressed that the team will have massive importance for the MCU going forward.
With the Fantastic Four reboot heading to theaters in 2025, production is looking to start in 2024. But before that can happen, casting has to take place, and it appears the search for the four icons are about to start. According to Deadline reporter Justin Kroll, Marvel Studios is looking to cast Sue Storm first and then cast the rest of the team around whoever lands the role of Invisible Woman. Marvel Studios has, at this time, not made any comments on the Fantastic Four casting report.

What We Know About MCU’s Fantastic Four Casting
According to Feige, the MCU’s take on the Fantastic Four will already be established by the time they appear on the big screen. While it will be a reboot, Feige has clarified that Marvel Studios’ project will not be an origin story. The age range has so far not been clarified about this incarnation of the Fantastic Four.
While John Krasinski was cast as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, don’t expect him to return as Mr. Fantastic. After fans had suggested Krasinski for Reed for years, Feige decided to implement the idea as a fun one-off in the Doctor Strange installment. However, the plan was never to have him portray the Earth-616 version of the Fantastic Four hero. With Shakman tapped as the director for the reboot, he will now get to line up his own Fantastic Four cast.
Interestingly, Marvel Studios is specifically starting with Sue, which could suggest that she may have a bigger role to serve in the Fantastic Four film. The bigger question is whether or not Fantastic Four will appear anywhere in the MCU Phase 5, whether it be post-credit scenes or other types of cameos before their Phase 6 movie. With casting looking to start soon, it will likely not be long until various actors begin to be eyed for the MCU’s Fantastic Four.
