Vin Diesel Fans Can Plan an Action-Packed Double Feature on Streaming Next Month
Mar 19, 2025
Vin Diesel has cemented his position as an action star whose talents know no bar. The actor has been the driving force behind the Fast and Furious franchise along with starring in features like The Chronicles of Riddick, The Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, and more. Two of his movies are now coming to Tubi for his fans to stream them for free. Come April 1, The Last Witch Hunter (2015) and xXx (2002) will be available on the platform.
xXx sees Diesel as Xander Cage, an extreme sports athlete who is hired by the US Government to gather information on an organization that may be planning the destruction of the world. The Rob Cohen-directed feature has a 48 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating. Made on a modest budget of $88 million, the movie was a hit upon its release garnering $277.4 million worldwide. Despite commercial success, critics have been harsh on the movie for lacking the seriousness of the spy thriller. Nevertheless, fans love it for its punk feel. The success of the feature led to two more sequels. The feature written by Rich Wilkes also stars Asia Argento, Marton Csokas, and Samuel L. Jackson.
‘The Last Witch Hunter’ Reportedly Has a Sequel in Development
Another movie that takes Diesel into the periphery of fantasy-action, The Last Witch Hunter, is also coming to the streamer on the same date. Diesel leads the film as Kaulder, the warrior responsible for killing the Witch Queen (Julie Engelbrecht) 800 years ago. In a turn of events, before she dies, she puts an immortality curse on Kaulder. Cut to the present day with Kaulder working for the Axe and Cross, a group dedicated to stopping witches. All is going well enough until Dolan the 36th (Michael Caine) is attacked and Kaulder discovers the Witch Queen is behind it.
Directed by Breck Eisner, the film garnered mixed reactions by fans and critics. The difference can be seen in Rotten Tomatoes ratings as critics gave it a 18 percent while fans gave a much higher, 44 percent rating. But it’s the fans’ love that has kept the hope for a sequel alive as Diesel previously told Collider about a sequel in works at Lionsgate several years ago, though updates have been slim since.
“Lionsgate is coming and saying, ‘We’re putting a writer on for the next one.’ That’s kinda cool! … And this is just recent, by the way. But it’s funny that you mentioned Last Witch Hunter because I’m in a meeting with Lionsgate and they’re actively creating the sequel to The Last Witch Hunter.”
xXx and The Last Witch Hunter debuts on Tubi on April 1.
