Gallery 1988 has released a collection of prints and original artwork from its “Back to 1985” pop culture art exhibit celebrating the 40th anniversary of several movies from 1985.The prints include:“1985” – Jeremy Wojchihosky’s amalgam of the year’s films includes featuriung several characters from movies of that year. 12×12 open edition prints cost $30.“The Black Cauldron” – Michael Stiles gives us a print of Disney’s animated fantasy adventure film The Black Cauldron. 12×18 open edition prints come signed by the artist for $60.”Hero vs. Villian vs. Rebel with a Bike” – Jason Cortez created a poster based on Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure. 18×24 linited edition print of 10 for $30.“Got Brains?” – Amanda Jablonka’s artwork of Tarman from Return of the Living Dead is available as an open edition 9×12 print for $25.”Cobra Commander w/ Cobra Insigina Base” – Jonas Rosato created this hand-carved Cobra Commander and it’s $250.”Pee-Wee’s Big Tiki” – Carrie Anne Hudson created this 8×10 open edition pring for $25.“I am Peter Vincent, vampire killer!” – Christopher Uminga delivers a tribute to Roddy McDowall’s horror host character in Fright Night. The original 9×12 framed watercolor artwork costs $500.”Hide and Go Teek” – Danny Beckwith is the creator of this art inspired by Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. This 6×8 print is a limited edition of 30 and costs $25.“Over His Dead Body” – Stephen Andrade imagines Clue as a vintage paperback novel. 11×17 prints come signed by the artist for $30.”A Match Made in Space” – Stephen Andrade give us a Back To The Future vintage paperback novel print. 11×17 prints signed by the aritst for $30.”Days of Glory” – Carles Ganya is the artist behind the Rocky IV piece and was created using graphic pencil and acrylic marker on wood. It will cost you $1,750.“1985 Rewind” – Mike Boon’s treasure trove of 1985 pop culture and features nods to several films from the year. 16×20 open edition prints are $50.“Hero vs. Villian vs. Rebel with a Bike” – Jason Cortez illustrates Pee-wee Herman’s run-in with Godzilla and King Ghidorah from Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. 18×24 prints, signed and numbered out of 10, are $30.”Calvin & Hobbes Snow Day” – Jackie Huang is the artist behind this Calvin & Hobbes piece.
