Woman of Tomorrow’ in the Most Jason Momoa Way Possible
Apr 13, 2025
Jason Momoa’s DCU debut as Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow just got one step closer, as the man currently starring in A Minecraft Movie officially announced a wrap on production via his Instagram. With production beginning back in January this year, this final snap of the clapperboard is likely to set the wheels in motion on more news about the movie’s finer details, of which DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has kept close to his chest thus far.
Via social media, Momoa posted a trio of videos of him riding his Minecraft-inspired present around London, complete with the caption, “THATS A WRAP ON LOBO so thankful to play this role. And very thankful for my present mahalo kelly ben todd all the crew at @iamspecialized for my MINECRAFT present. Pink on pink S WORKS LEVO Your support is amazing this is the greatest bike I have ever ridden. Sworks motor is insane. LOVE U GUYS. All my aloha everyone. J.”
Based on the 2021 comic series of the same name, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will see the supremely talented Milly Alcock take the role of the Girl of Steel, with the film also set to star David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Eve Ridley, alongside Aquaman himself, Momoa. Directed by Craig Gillespie of Oscar-winning I-Tonya fame, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is penned by Ana Nogueira, who is also currently reported to be scripting an upcoming Teen Titans film. Despite many fine details yet to be announced regarding the project, we do already know that the latest DCU installment will fly into theaters on June 26, 2026, although delays are a sincere possibility.
Jason Momoa’s ‘A Minecraft Movie’ Continues to Dominate the Box Office
Despite facing the likes of Captain America: Brave New World and the controversial Snow White, competition has been no challenge for the recent release of A Minecraft Movie, which stars Momoa alongside the likes of Jack Black and Emma Myers. As of today, the movie has surpassed both the $200 million mark domestically and the $150 million mark in overseas markets to hit a global total of $351 million, with its second weekend’s figures yet to be released. Despite some critical backlash, this makes the film an unquestionable success in a year when many movies have struggled to entice theatergoers to spend their hard-earned cash. This, plus news that a sequel is imminent, confirms that A Minecraft Movie is the biggest blockbuster success of the year so far.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is scheduled to enter theaters on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned to Collider for more information, and check out A Minecraft Movie in theaters now.
