Violence Has Always Haunted The Yellowstone Dutton Family

Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” TV dynasty keeps growing. Already having the most popular show on cable television with “Yellowstone,” Sheridan’s been giving us glimpses into the origin story of the Dutton family legacy. The one-off limited series, “1883,” showed us John Dutton’s great-great-grandfather, and the next generation, “1923: A Yellowstone Origin,” story shows us the next chapter.

And Sheridan’s empire is convincing major talent to participate. The next installment of the “Yellowstone” origin story, “1923,” introduces a new generation of Duttons. Led by Academy Award nominee Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Academy Award winner Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton, the series will explore the early 20th Century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west and the Duttons who call it home.
In addition to Ford and Mirren, the series also stars Brandon Sklenar (“The Offer”), Darren Mann (“Animal Kingdom”), Michelle Randolph (“A Snow White Christmas”), James Badge Dale (“Hightown”), Marley Shelton (“Scream”), Brian Geraghty (“Big Sky”), Aminah Nieves (“Blueberry”), Julia Schlaepfer (“The Politician”) and Jerome Flynn (“Game of Thrones”).
And if you’re paying attention in the new trailer, you’ll hear the voice of Isabel May, who played the character of Elsa Dutton, the teenage daughter of James and Margaret Dutton from “1883,” who also narrated that series.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, “1923” is executive produced by Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Ben Richardson.
“1923” will debut on Sunday, December 18, on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada. Paramount Network will also host a linear airing of the “1923” debut episode on December 18, immediately following a new episode of “Yellowstone” as a special simulcast event. The second episode will air on Paramount Network on January 1st. In the meantime, following the first look of the series this week. the first teaser trailer has arrived, and as you can see, the theme of violence always haunting the Dutton clan continues.
