Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen Hunts for Rachel Zegler in ‘Snow White’ Deleted Scene [Exclusive]
May 9, 2025
Disney’s Snow White may have wrapped its theatrical run, but the fairy tale is far from over. The live-action reimagining, starring Rachel Zegler as the iconic princess, is set to arrive on digital platforms on May 13, with 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD releases following on June 24 — and yes, the bonus features are packed with magic. Among the standout extras? A deleted scene titled Hunt for Snow White, which Collider is thrilled to present an exclusive first look at. The scene offers a darker, more suspenseful moment that didn’t make the final cut: the Evil Queen’s soldiers search the woods for Snow White and discover her signature red bow among the foliage, which is a pretty sharp total contrast to the more whimsical beats of the finished film, and a fun peek at what director Marc Webb and writer Erin Cressida Wilson explored before settling on the theatrical version.
This is just one of three deleted scenes available as part of the upcoming home release. The other two, Anguish and Opportunity and Danger in the Woods, will give viewers even more glimpses into the creative process behind Disney’s latest fairy tale adaptation. For fans of musical moments, the release also includes a full feature sing-along, plus behind-the-scenes content showcasing the making of the film — including costume design, set creation, cast interviews, and a blooper reel full of laughter and on-set antics.
Is ‘Snow White’ Worth Checking Out?
Collider’s Ross Bonaime found plenty to like in the film, which also featured Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap, Ansu Kabia and more. Bonaime was particularly taken with Zegler’s performance as Disney’s original princess, labelling it “…without a doubt, one of the better performances from a live-action Disney princess so far, and Zegler beautifully captures this character’s heart while still giving her more agency and depth than she had before.” Bonaime finished by pointing out that the film had overperformed on-screen based on the publicity surrounding it, and that the film did a fine job in “pulling off” the modern update.
Considering the pressure this movie has going against it in remaking one of Disney’s first true masterpieces and their first-ever animated feature, it’s surprising how well Snow White pulls off this update… Snow White deserved an update of sorts, and this is an admirable new take that certainly is one of the better live-action remakes from Disney.
Snow White lands on Prime Video and other digital platforms May 13, with physical copies arriving June 24. Check out our exclusive look at the film above.
