Mar 1, 2023

Here’s a wild concept for you. The creatives behind TV juggernauts “The Big Bang Theory”
“LOST” and “Watchmen”— Tara Hernandez and Damon Lindelof— have created a show about the world’s most powerful A.I. (called “Mrs. Davis”) and the nun who has devoted her life to destroying her/it. So yes, Hernandez and Lindelof’s “Mrs. Davis” is Peacock’s latest series, and it stars three-time Emmy Award nominee Betty Gilpin. The series will premiere exclusively on Peacock with four episodes on April 20 and then weekly on Thursdays.

Tara Hernandez, also known for “Young Sheldon,” is the showrunner, Lindelof the exec-producer, and the cast stars Betty Gilpin, Jake McDorman (“Dopesick“), and Andy McQueen (“Station Eleven“) star, along with recurring cast Ben Chaplin, Margo Martindale, David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Katja Herbers, Chris Diamantopoulo, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha and Mathilde Ollivier.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Betty Gilpin (GLOW, The Hunt) stars alongside Jake McDorman (Dopesick, The Right Stuff) and Andy McQueen (Station Eleven, Fahrenheit 451) as Simone, a nun who goes to battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence known as “Mrs. Davis.” McDorman plays Gilpin’s rebellious ex, who also has a personal vendetta against the Algorithm
Directors on the series include Owen Harris (“Black Mirror: San Junipero,” “Brave New World”) who will direct multiple episodes of the series, including the pilot, and Alethea Jones (“Rise of the Pink Ladies,” “Evil”). Betty Gilpin as a nun trying to kill the Alexa of her day premieres on Peacock on April 20. We’re in, at least for the first episode, based on that concept alone.
