Prey Star Amber Midthunder Addresses Potentially Joining the MCU

Dec 15, 2022

Amber Midthunder is a huge Marvel fan, and has made no secret that she would love to join the franchise in the not-too-distant future.

Hulu

Prey took many by surprise when it brought a new vision for the Predator franchise to life earlier this year, and among those surprises was the arrival of Amber Midthunder as the movie’s protagonist. Having caught the attention of many with her performance as Naru, the actress is now setting her sights on where her career could take her. Of course, one potential stop for any hot, up-and-coming star is always going to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and as a fan of the franchise and the X-Men in particular, the actress could be arriving at just the right time to take on a big future role in Marvel’s endless narrative.

Amber Midthunder may only now be catching the eye of many fans and producers, but the actress is no stranger to Marvel, as she already appeared in FX’s Legion. In the short-lived series, Midthunder starred as Kerry Loudermilk, a body-sharing mutant with unique anti-aging abilities and superhuman strength, and following her debut in that show, she has gone on to star in Roswell, New Mexico, and the thriller movie The Ice Road with Liam Neeson. Now that Prey has really given her a new platform, it could only be a matter of time before she gets to take on a much more prominent Marvel role. She told Variety:

“I’m definitely a big MCU fan. I’ve always loved the X-Men movies, all the Avengers movies. I’ve always been a big fan of the MCU. We’ll talk about [who I could play] later.”

Fans Already Know Who They Want Amber Midthunder to Play in the MCU

Quiver Distribution

As is usually the case, fans don’t waste much time in revealing their various fan-castings for both Marvel characters and actors who could be about to enter the MCU. While this usually features cinema icons such as Keanu Reeves, fans also have an idea of who they would like to see Midthunder play in the future. Top of the suggestions so far is an older version of Wolverine’s daughter X-23, who was last seen in 2016’s Logan, but with movies such as The Fantastic Four and the MCU’s X-Men reboot coming down the line in a few years, there is a huge list of upcoming roles to be filled, and it is very possible that Midthunder could figure in some of those castings.

From her short comment, Midthunder clearly has her own ideas of who she would like to play, or perhaps she has already had the golden call from Kevin Feige. Of course, that is something she is not sharing just yet either way, but it does not take much to get social media speculating on such matters. In the meantime, which there is only speculation to go on, one thing certain is that her fans can relive her epic performance as Naru in Prey, which is streaming on Hulu and Disney+ in most international territories.
