A new Wes Anderson comedy will soon be available on streaming. The celebrated director of The Royal Tenenbaums and The Grand Budapest Hotel is known for employing memorable color palettes and production designs and for incorporating unique humor into his narratives. Anderson’s film slate, including Moonrise Kingdom and Isle of Dogs, has garnered him a devoted following and several Academy Award nominations. His movies have largely received praise, and some, notably The Grand Budapest Hotel, have also been commercial hits. Despite a largely positive reception, The Phoenician Scheme is among Anderson’s lowest-performing theatrical releases, behind The French Dispatch and only ahead of some earlier projects, including The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and The Darjeeling Limited. Because moviegoing has changed in recent years, fans of Anderson may have sought out The Phoenician Scheme, while general audiences decided to bypass it.
