Jimmy Kimmel & Stephen Colbert Rant At Donald Trump in NSFW Response

Jul 24, 2025

It must be nice to have a very important job and still be allowed the time to do a bit of online trolling at the same time. A job like running America, perhaps. That certainly seems to be the case with President Donald Trump, who has been making his feelings about the recent announcement of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert being canceled very clear, with posts on his Truth Social site that not only welcomed the upcoming end of Colbert’s show, but named other hosts that he believed are “next to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes.” And now those “untalented” lot have drawn battle lines with their own responses. Following the news that Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show would be coming to an end in 2026, Trump wrote on Truth Social:
“The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone,” Trump posted. “These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!”

The Real Reason Why CBS Canceled ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ Should Alarm You

CBS called it a “financial decision,” but that’s only half-true – and it’s definitely not the whole story.

Well, it has not taken long for the most powerful man in America to get a reaction from the very people he has shown very little respect for over the last several years, not just in recent weeks.

During the opening monologue of The Late Show on July 21, Colbert didn’t hold back in promising to make his final run on CBS incredibly interesting. He said:
“And now for the next 10 months, the gloves are off. I can finally speak unvarnished truth to power and say what I really think of about Donald Trump starting right now. I don’t care for him. Doesn’t seem to have like the skill set to be president. Just not a good fit, that’s all.”
This received a less than happy response from the audience, who clearly expected something more. However, after delving into talk of Paramount’s merger with Skydance, Colbert finally gave everyone what they were waiting for by reading out Trump’s original post, and responding directly to the president, saying:

“How dare you, sir. Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go f*ck yourself.”

Colbert went on to note Trump’s mention that Jimmy Kimmel was next to go, to which he responded by saying, “I’m the martyr here. There’s only room for one person on this cross.” However, Jimmy Kimmel was not relying on his fellow host to stand up for him, as he was already replying to Trump on his Instagram account, as can be seen in the post below. Hardly surprising considering the pair’s previous history.
Clearly, like almost everything that Donald Trump touches in the world, this is something we have not heard the end of by a long way. Exactly what happens next…well, place your bets, but just know that the odds probably aren’t in anyone’s favor right now. Source: Instagram/CBS
