How To Watch the New FX Series
Aug 14, 2025
The universe’s apex predators are finally making their way to Earth tonight, and this time fans can watch from the comfort of their own homes. Fans of the iconic sci-fi world of Ridley Scott’s 1979 horror film Alien are in for a two-episode treat tonight. For the first time in the franchise’s 46-year history, the Xenomorph is not only coming to the planet we call home, but also the small screen. The first series in the long-standing franchise, Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth, will kick off with the release of the first two episodes tonight at 8PM ET on FX and Hulu. Alien: Earth comes on the tails of Fede Alvarez’s 2024 hit Alien: Romulus, starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, and Isabela Merced, which reinvigorated the 46-year-old franchise. With filming for Alvarez’s sequel planning to begin soon and the release of Alien: Earth closer than ever, the world of the infamous extraterrestrial threat is on the cusp of a full-blown sci-fi genre takeover. The series is not only expanding the lore of the monster movies, but also introducing more deadly creatures to the franchise. While viewers’ focus will be on the Xenomorph at hand, these new threats could change this iconic sci-fi world forever. Alien: Earth’s official description reads: “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.” While it already sounds like a classic recipe for an Alien story, the deadly hunter (and fans) has never encountered this version of the planet we call home. Anything and everything you fear could happen in the unprecedented Alien: Earth, so you’ll have to tune in and see what Hawley has up his sleeve. After the two-episode premiere tonight, FX will release one new episode per week every Tuesday at 8PM ET, with episodes also available to stream on Hulu.
Noah Hawley Has Crafted Eight ‘Alien: Earth’ Episodes to Terrify
FX Networks
Alien: Earth has eight total episodes slated for Season 1 and will run from August 12 to September 23. As of now, fans know the titles of the first four episodes. In order from first to fourth: “Neverland,” “Mr. October,” “Metamorphosis,” and “Observation.” Fans could spend all day speculating on what each title might mean for the show, but they won’t have to wait much longer to find out. With writer/director Noah Hawley, best known for creating acclaimed television series like Fargo and Legion, at the helm of this ship, there’s not much for fans to worry about, other than the characters’ lives, of course. Already receiving glowing reviews, Alien: Earth revolves around Wendy (Sydney Chandler), the first human-AI hybrid on Earth, who is seeking her missing brother, CJ (Alex Lawther), a human. Other characters include Kirsh (Timothy Olyphant), a pure-synthetic being and Wendy’s mentor and teacher, and Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin), the human CEO of the Prodigy Corporation, which funds the space-traveling mission that ultimately winds up back on Earth in the worst way possible.
