Blue Eye Samurai is slicing its way back onto Netflix with Season 2 deep in the works, and this time, Mizu’s deadly journey for revenge is taking her far from Japan. During a panel at Anime NYC 2025, series creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green offered fans a sneak peek at what’s coming next, and it’s a whole new world of targets. The Emmy-winning animated series stunned viewers with its brutal first season, and that cliffhanger ending set up a major shift. Mizu’s path of vengeance now points to a very different destination. According to Green, “She believes that at least two of the men that she’s out to kill are going to be somewhere in this magical place called London.”“Mizu’s journey remains the same,” Noizumi added. “Revenge is her religion.” And in the teaser shown during the Netflix showcase, fans caught a glimpse of Mizu in action as she breaks into a new location, blade drawn and vengeance in mind. Green hinted that some time may have passed between seasons, setting the stage for some big reveals.Characters like Swordmaker, Ringo, Taigen, and Akemi will return, but there’s more. Noizumi dropped a cryptic teaser that’s bound to stir fan theories: “…there are also going to be maybe some people you thought died, who maybe are still alive.” Yeah, that changes everything. While there’s still no official release date for Season 2, the production is moving full speed ahead. Green previously shared the excitement behind the scenes: “We’re excited how it’s coming along. It’s going great. We have the best team you could ask for working, applying all their talent and experience into doing the impossible again. And more of the impossible, and celebrating what we got good at and trying some really new crazy things too.”At the time of that interview, the team was just kicking off work on the premiere episode. “We’re actually playing hooky from it,” Green admitted. “So when we finish talking to you, we’ll check our email and see the latest designs or early storyboards for our first episode.”With high expectations riding on its return, and with Blue Eye Samurai now an Emmy-winning powerhouse, Season 2 promises to be another intense, beautifully crafted, and emotionally charged chapter in Mizu’s relentless pursuit of justice.Via: CB
