Evan Peters on Quicksilver’s MCU Future and Teaming With Magneto Again — GeekTyrant
Sep 29, 2025
It has been six years since Evan Peters zipped across the screen as Quicksilver, but the actor hasn’t closed the door on a possible comeback. Best known to fans as Pietro Maximoff in X-Men: Days of Future Past and its sequels, Peters recently opened up about whether he’d suit up again as Marvel’s speedster and how a reunion with Magneto might play out.Speaking with ComicBook while promoting his new role as Julian Dillinger in Tron: Ares, Peters was asked directly about stepping back into the MCU. His response was hopeful but cautious:“Yeah, I mean, knock on wood. I would love to. I think he’s such a fun character, and I had such a blast playing him, and I had such a blast working with all the cast in those films. Yeah, I would love to do that again. It would be incredible.”Quicksilver has always held a special place in the X-Men legacy. First introduced in The Uncanny X-Men #4, the character was brought to life by Peters in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past before reprising the role in X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. His slow-motion rescue sequences remain some of the most memorable moments in superhero cinema. He later showed up in WandaVision. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has leaned heavily into multiverse storytelling since Doctor Strange in 2016, creating plenty of opportunities for familiar faces to return. The Russo brothers’ upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, arriving December 18, 2026, is already confirmed to feature returning X-Men veterans including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. Its follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, is slated for December 17, 2027, and is rumored to bring back even more icons from the Fox era of mutants. When asked about possibly reuniting with McKellen’s Magneto, Peters said:“That would be amazing. He’s incredible. It would be such an honor. Yeah, that would be really cool.”While Peters isn’t officially lined up for the MCU just yet, Marvel’s ongoing dive into alternate timelines and crossovers means his Quicksilver could easily make a comeback. Fans who grew up with his version of the character are eager to see him run back into action, and Peters’ enthusiasm only fuels that possibility. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if Marvel pulls the trigger. In the meantime, you can catch Peters when Tron: Ares races into theaters on October 25, 2025.
