‘Vision Quest’ Sets 2026 Release with New Details of Returning Stars Revealed at NYCC

Oct 13, 2025

Vision Quest is coming to Disney+ in 2026, bringing back Paul Bettany as Vision and completing the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. According to details shared at New York Comic Con, the series will be the final part of the trilogy of shows that started with WandaVision. During the events of that series, White Vision, a new version of Vision, was created and, in the finale, was seen soaring off with the memories of the original Vision, who was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. As per Discussing Film, Vision Quest will find White Vision struggling to connect with the memories of his former self, having very little emotional connection to them. The series will also see the return of James Spader as Ultron, who will appear in both AI and human form. The series will also feature human and AI versions of FRIDAY, EDITH, DUM-E and JARVIS. Ruaridh Mollica has been cast as Tommy Maximoff/Speed in the series, continuing to expand on the children of Wanda and Vision who were “lost” when Wanda’s spell over Westview was broken. In addition to this, James D’Arcy will be reprising his role as the human version of Jarvis after previously playing Edwin Jarvis in Agent Carter. There is currently no release date set for the show, but with Wonder Man and Daredevil: Born Again scheduled for January and March releases, respectively, and animated shows X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man coming in summer and fall, respectively, it seems like Vision Quest may not be arriving until the end of the year.
‘Vision Quest’ Creator Had a Lot of Freedom on the Show

Earlier this year, series creator Terry Matalas shared an insight into how much freedom he was given when coming up with the story for Vision Quest. While the show had a clear lead in from WandaVision, it seemed that very little was off the cards. During an appearance on the The Sackoff Show, Matalas said:
“There was a kind of logline that was very specific, Kinda like ‘It’s this, this, and this.’ But there were a thousand ways to do exactly that. It was an opportunity to be like, ‘Okay, if you want to do this, then you kinda also want to do this, this, and this.’ And it became this very collaborative experience that’s just been really wonderful. It’s been a really wonderful creative experience, and I think we are making something really special. It’s also scary because they are like, ‘Go do that crazy thing you wanna do.’ And I’m, like, ‘Oh, wow, it’s a big stage to take a big swing on.’ But I think we’re in a really good place.”
