‘The Boys’ Is Now Officially a Double Guinness World Record Holder Ahead of Season 5
Oct 28, 2025
The Boys has been a record-breaker on Prime Video in terms of viewership in its time, but now the show is also an official Guinness World Record breaker to add to its list of accolades. During MCM Comic Con London, representatives of Guinness World Records surprised the stars in attendance, namely Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, and Tomer Capone, with not one but two different awards. Those were The Most In-Demand Action-Adventure TV Show, and The Most In-Demand Superhero TV Show. In a video shared of the moment the cast were presented with certificates, Urban spoke about his thanks to the many people who have made The Boys possible and turned it into a hugely successful show.
“Hey, thank you so much guys, but I just want to say this is really, really special to us, really incredible, but I guess you know there’s a few people that we really should thank. Garth Ennis for one who was the creator of The Boys. Amazing graphic novels, amazing comics if you haven’t read it. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Eric Kripke. I need to thank Eric Kripke, who without his captaining the ship, none of this would have been possible.
Obviously, Amazon, and Sony Pictures. I would have to thank them for their support for the show, and, of course, our Toronto crew, can’t forget them because it would not have been possible without them. They made us better and definitely most importantly, you guys. Thanks for being fans with us for four seasons, and coming five. We can’t wait for you guys to see what we’ve cooked up for Season 5, and this means the world to us. Thank you so much.”
‘The Boys’ Is Heading for an Insane Conclusion
The Boys has come in for plenty of criticism in its recent season, mainly for taking a clearer shot at the current presidential administration in the U.S. than in previous seasons – yes, we know it has always been that show, but some people need spoonfeeding from time to time. That means, as well as the usual pressure of ending a series, showrunner Erik Kripke knows what kind of pressure he is dealing with. He previously said:
“I am in a fair amount of terror about a series finale. You can count in one, maybe two hands, the truly great series finales. Of which, by the way, well done, I think The Shield is one of them. And, conversely, the graveyard is literally filled with terrible [series finales]. You could have the greatest show for years, but if you stiff that ending, and that’s what’s sending everyone out in the parking lot, they go, ‘Oh, maybe that show wasn’t that good.’”
One thing that Kripke and several stars of the show have promised is that this will be the craziest season The Boys has ever delivered, and with the show coming to its “batsh-t” conclusion, all bets are off on who will survive and who will die. The series is set to return to Prime Video early in 2026.
