‘Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy and Millie Bobby Brown Break Silence on David Harbour Bullying Claims

Nov 10, 2025

Stranger Things stars came out for the Hollywood premiere of the fantasy horror show’s final season, which will premiere on Netflix at the end of this month. However, the last week has seen several stories of on-set complaints raised by Millie Bobby Brown against costar David Harbour for harassment and bullying. On the red carpet, series executive producer Shawn Levy addressed the stories, and dismissed many reports as “wildly inaccurate.” It is almost a week since several reports claimed that prior to the start of Season 5 filming, Harbour faced an internal Netflix investigation after claims of bullying and harassment were filed against him by his on-screen “daughter,” Millie Bobby Brown. While many of the initial reports did not provide any further details on what the allegations were, others expanded details in ways that could have been exaggerated. This is a suggestion that Levy leaned into when breaking his silence on the matter to The Hollywood Reporter when asked about how he handled the situation and made sure everyone felt “safe and respected. Levy responded:
“You just answered the question. At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. We’re proud of the fact that we did so. I’ve read a bunch of stories, and they range from wildly inaccurate to…there’s so much noise around it, but the truth is that we viewed this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect and that’s always been bedrock.”

David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown Reunited on the Premiere Red Carpet

While there have been plenty of rumors about Harbour not being part of the promotion for the finale of Stranger Things, he was certainly present for the main event, as was costar Brown. In direct contradiction to claims made by some that the pair do not have a good working relationship since the allegations were made, Harbour and Brown were all smiles as they appeared together on the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere. In a very telling movie to dispel rumors of discourse – or anything that could take attention away from Season 5’s big moment – Netflix themselves shared a very short Instagram video that showed the pair of actors celebrating the event, including them giving each other a huge hug. No doubt skeptics will be quick to label this a well-timed piece of PR to smooth over the cracks as the series heads towards its debut, but others have taken it as a sign they can “watch the season finale in peace.”
Speaking to Extra, Brown said that working on the final season meant a lot to both her and Harbour, and noted that “they were luck to have each other.”
Of course, there is still little known about what actually happened between the pair, but considering the complaint was filed before they worked together on Season 5, it seemed that whatever the issues were had been resolved a long time ago. Does that mean they are still great friends when the cameras are not there… we will probably never know, and many would say, it is not something that anyone needs to know but them.
