Jimmy Kimmel Will Address a “Fascist” Year in Channel 4’s Alternative Christmas Message
Dec 23, 2025
For those who thought Jimmy Kimmel was done poking Donald Trump with a stick after his last Jimmy Kimmel Live! of the year, you were very wrong. Not only is Kimmel set to reflect on a “great year for fascism,” but he is going to be doing it half-way around the globe as the host of a special Christmas Day message on the U.K.’s Channel 4. The U.K. network TV channel has been delivering an annual Alternative Christmas Message for more than 30 years, giving viewers a different kind of festive reflection on the year to the one delivered by Queen Elizabeth II, and now by King Charles III. There has been a wide range of hosts enlisted for this message, from Marge Simpson and Sharon Osbourne to Stephen Fry and Ali G, and now, it is Kimmel’s turn to step up and play host to viewers, and we can pretty much predict what his focus is going to be. Over the last several months, more than ever, Kimmel has been TV’s prime antagonist to President Donald Trump. The pair’s fraught relationship, which has never exactly seen them being on each other’s Christmas card list, reached a new level in September when Kimmel was suspended over comments made in relation to the death of Charlie Kirk. Following Kimmel’s show being pulled off-air, Trump openly celebrated the news on his social media site, and subsequently expressed his outrage when Kimmel returned to screens to record viewership. Now, Kimmel will be getting a whole new audience as he continues to spread a message of hope for all those who are not exactly happy about the state of the U.S. and the administration running the country.
Jimmy Kimmel Will Deliver a “Warm” but “Serious” Message to the U.K.
ABC
During the opening monologs of his late-night chat show, Kimmel openly criticized Donald Trump on a number of subjects. This seemingly won’t change with his Christmas message, but while exact details have not been revealed, a spokesperson for Channel 4 said that Kimmel’s ten minutes would be “tonally warm.”
“Donald Trump’s return to the White House and wide-ranging impact on the world has been the story of 2025 and it would be hard to think of a better person to address it than Jimmy Kimmel, who has found himself on the frontline of America’s battle over free speech.”
It is fair to say that 2025 has brought more controversies and almost incomprehensible moments, with a large amount of that coming from the presidency of Donald Trump. This means that Kimmel will have plenty of material to call on for his pre-recorded address to the nation, and will no doubt be able to draw quite an audience of those who have been following his ongoing battle with Trump over the last few years.
Kimmel signed off on his last Jimmy Kimmel Live of 2025 this week, but he will be back next year, and after renewing his contract, is seemingly ready to make good on his promise to the president that he will be sticking around until Trump leaves the White House. The Alternative Christmas Message will be available on Channel 4 and will subsequently be available via the network’s streaming sites and YouTube.

The Legacy Of A War Hero Destroyed By Nepotistic Bollywood In “Ikkis”
