Marty Supreme is well on its way to becoming one of A24’s biggest box office hits of all time after wrapping up another successful weekend in theaters. Timothée Chalamet’s explosive new ping pong biopic has grossed just over $56 million at the domestic box office and $1.8 million internationally for a $57.8 million cumulative total. Not only is this enough to make Marty Supreme A24’s third-highest-grossing movie of all time domestically, but it’s also enough to push it past Uncut Gems, one of the breakout films for the studio that earned $50 million at the domestic box office. Marty Supreme is projected to be A24’s first film ever to eclipse $100 million at the domestic box office. Marty Supreme stars Timothée Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a young American man chasing his dream to become the greatest ping pong player in the world. Chalamet’s performance is garnering some serious Oscar buzz, and after earning another nomination last year for his work in A Complete Unknown, he could finally be in line for his first win. Gwyneth Paltrow was tapped to star in Marty Supreme as Kay Stone, Marty’s older love interest. Shark Tank veteran Kevin O’Leary also stars as Stone’s husband, Milton, and Tyler the Creator can be seen as Marty’s friend Wally. Marty Supreme needs only $13 million at the domestic box office to eclipse the total of Civil War, Alex Garland’s hit 2024 thriller that scored $68 million in earnings. It will likely reach this by the end of next weekend, and it will then set its sights on Everything Everywhere All at Once. Marty Supreme currently trails EEAAO by $21 million at the domestic box office and nearly $90 million globally.
Is ‘Marty Supreme’ on Streaming?
Marty Supreme is not streaming anywhere in America right now, and the film is only available to watch in theaters. Considering how well it’s performing, A24 is likely in no rush to move the film onto VOD platforms, so it may not be until February that Chalamet’s new movie becomes available to watch at home. Once it does begin streaming, it’s a safe bet that it will join other A24 movies of late on HBO Max. The Smashing Machine, an A24 product starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, is poised to begin streaming on HBO Max later this month.
