Netfix’s ‘One Piece’ Season 2 Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed
Mar 11, 2026
The second season of Netflix’s hit action fantasy series One Piece has arrived on the streaming platform, and critics have delivered a clear-cut verdict on Rotten Tomatoes. The highly anticipated return of the live-action manga adaptation delivers the show’s most ambitious batch of episodes yet, as Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his Straw Hat Pirates embark on a perilous journey in search of the titular treasure. As of this writing, One Piece Season 2 has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on X reviews. Critics have praised the latest season for its faithfulness to the source material, as well as the chemistry of its main cast, which lead an epic new adventure that ups the scale in every way possible. Ernesto Valenzuela’s review for Discussing Film praised the Netflix series for being able to adapt the ambitious source material, saying that it “effortlessly scales up to match the manga, resulting in a bombastic, highly entertaining adaptation for longtime fans and newcomers alike.” Nerdist’s Alison Mattingly said, while the first season did a good job of introducing the main crew, One Piece Season 2 will certainly shock and impress viewers with “the epic scope and possibility of One Piece’s world and storytelling.” One Piece Season 2, which is now available to stream on Netflix, sees the Straw Hat Pirates enter the Grand Line, a vast and treacherous sea that introduces endless new enemies and allies. In true One Piece fashion, the show is bigger and sillier than ever before, as Clint Worthington of RogerEbert.com concludes that the live-action adaptation manages to be “goofy, knowingly strange, and wears its heart on its sentimental sleeve, and that’s enough to put some wind in its sails.” While it may not be for everyone, it sounds like Netflix’s popular action fantasy series live up to the hype, while bringing subscribers what is easily the streamer’s most ambitious project to date since the finale of Stranger Things.
The second season of One Piece is based on Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga of the same name, which has surpassed Superman in total comic sales (yes, really). With Season 3 already on the way and in production, Netflix looks to take the long-running storyline and bring it into live-action for the foreseeable future. While it is too early to tell if the lengthy marketing campaign and hyped-up trailers will bring streaming success, considering the first season was one of the most watched shows on the platform, One Piece Season 2 has a good chance to become the closest successor to Stranger Things in terms of popularity. Time will tell, but it’s hard not to see how intentional the streamer has been with the rollout of its pirate action series.
One Piece Season 2 features the return of the main cast, which features Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. The exciting new additions include Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, and Lera Abova as Miss All-Sunday, among many others.
