‘Agent From Above’ Images Tease This Week’s Release of Netflix Action Fantasy Series
Apr 1, 2026
In anticipation of its long-awaited debut this week, Netflix has revealed several new images from the streamer’s most ambitious action fantasy epic series. Nearly a decade after it was first announced, the popular streaming platform is hoping all that effort and patience were worth it, with the series, which introduces a world of human and demon realms and the battle being waged between them, expected to leave the likes of other genre hits The Witcher, Shadow & Bone, and Avatar: The Last Airbender in the dust. Based on the first book of the popular novel series “The Oracle Comes” by Taiwanese author Teensy, Agent from Above is all set to debut in a few days following years of stalling and delays caused by on-set injuries, extensive post-production, and the pandemic. The images offer our latest tease of the VFX-laden action fantasy spectacle, which blends traditional folk beliefs with modern fantasy, as it follows Han Chieh (Kai Ko), a spirit medium bound to serve the Third Crown Prince (Wang Po-chieh) to atone for a childhood mistake by resolving supernatural disturbances in the human world. Along the way, he meets the optimistic college student Yeh Tzu (Buffy Chen) and detective Chang Min (Johnny Yang), who can see spirits. The trio must join forces to face deadly confrontations with a mysterious and ruthless villain, while uncovering the truth behind a being threatening the balance between the human and demon realms in what is best described as a combination of Supernatural and Constantine but with roots deeply set in real-world Taoist traditions.
‘Agent From Above’ Finally Hits Netflix in April
This new batch of images sees action and fantasy collide, as an assortment of colorful characters make use of various vibrant weapons as the war between mortal and immortal realms rages on. Teasing the sheer level of CGI needed to bring the epic tale and its supernatural-infused fight scenes to life, with director Kuan Wei-chieh promising an exciting showcase of “extensive VFX and dynamic fight choreography” alongside “a visceral energy that pulses through every frame.” Something which these images display well.
