Apple TV’s ‘Imperfect Women’ Is Silently Taking Over Streaming

Apr 3, 2026

Apple TV’s newest series is quietly taking over streaming following its debut last month, as the psychological thriller has risen to become the second most popular show on the streaming platform. Apple has always been home to great thrillers like Servant, Black Bird, and Shining Girls, and its newest hit is no exception thanks to its stacked cast. Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, and Kate Mara lead the new thriller as three women whose decades-long bond is tested following a devastating murder. As the investigation into events unfolds, long-buried secrets, betrayals, and hidden resentments come to the surface, revealing that their seemingly perfect lives – and friendship – were far more complicated than they appeared. Told through different perspectives, Imperfect Women premiered its first two episodes on Mar. 18, and since then, the psychological thriller has been slowly climbing the ranks of Apple TV’s Top 10 list. With four episodes still left in the season, the series currently sits at #2 in the United States behind Shrinking, and ahead of the sci-fi drama, For All Mankind, which is in third position.
‘Imperfect Women’ Is Not Without Its Flaws

Created by Annie Weisman and based on the novel of the same name by Araminta Hall, Imperfect Women examines how the past affects the present. The choices the three women make leading up to the inciting incident have some pretty harsh consequences. The show digs deep to explore how those consequences affect them, while at the same time touching on hefty themes like guilt, self-worth, and the fragility of friendship. That being said, Imperfect Women has been receiving a mixed bag of responses thus far. The show holds just a 44% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, with some, such as Aramide Tinubu from Variety, calling it “an outstanding mystery thriller,” and others, like Alberto Carlos from Espinof, noting its “something so decidedly generic.”
What to Watch After ‘Imperfect Women’

Critics aside, if you’re one of the ones who are really enjoying Imperfect Women and are looking for things in the same vein as the Apple TV hit, there is a plethora of shows you can watch next. Perhaps the closest comparison is HBO’s Big Little Lies, which is also a murder mystery told through flashbacks that focuses on friendship, jealousy, and trauma. For those who need a little more Kerry Washington in their lives, Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu is also a great follow-up to Imperfect Women. It’s yet another emotional drama based on a book that examines the picture-perfect Richardson family, and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives.

More great choices include Nicole Kidman’s The Undoing on HBO Max, the five-season drama The Affair on Paramount+, and Sharp Objects, which is another phenomenal psychological thriller starring Amy Adams that’s also available on HBO Max. There’s no word yet on whether Imperfect Women will get another season considering it’s designed to be an eight-episode limited series, but if the demand is high, there’s always the possibility it could continue. In the meantime, be sure to check out the first four episodes streaming now on Apple TV+, and look for the remaining half to air every Wednesday until its conclusion on Apr. 29.
