Charlie Cox Teases Time Jump for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3
May 11, 2026
Marvel Television reached the end of a wild new season of Disney+ programming when Episode 8 of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 made its debut in early May. Bringing Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock into another epic confrontation with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, the season finale concluded with one of the most shocking moments in MCU history, as Murdock announced to the world that he is Daredevil. Using that information to help convict Fisk for his crimes and save Karen Page from a certain conviction and jail sentence, he exposed Fisk as a monster to the public, bringing New York City to his side in an epic showdown. Looking forward, the status quo will change for Murdock in ways that have never been seen during his 11-year run in the MCU. While Fisk is sent off to live alone on a beach in paradise, Cox’s hero now faces the consequences of his actions, as the NYPD arrests him and throws him in jail. Now, as questions begin formulating about what Murdock will be up against when he returns, the actor has shared new insight into what may be on the table for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Speaking with ScreenRant, Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox discussed the aftermath of the Season 2 finale. Expressing how shocked he was when he first heard the idea, he described the way he eventually embraced the freedom of being able to have trust in Marvel’s long-term storytelling:
“When they told me on the phone, I was shocked because you can’t put that genie back in the box, unless you plan on using the Purple Man’s children from the comics. Anything big and bold, I like it. I’m up for it. Let’s do it. And I like the fact that Marvel often handles situations in the way they do. ‘Let’s do it and then we’ll figure out how to fix it if we need to,’ kind of thing. So it’s a great storyline.”

Diving further into next season, he discussed the deeper meaning behind the confrontation against Kingpin, describing the way their rivalry brings out Matt and Daredevil’s most essential characteristics:
“That epitomizes who he is. He is someone who is always fighting for himself and for us, the collective, to be the better version of themselves. I think the thing that keeps him going is the idea that if everyone could engage the better version of themselves more often, the world would be a better place.”
Looking forward to Season 3, the big question will be how much time Murdock spends in jail and how long it will take for Fisk to make his way back to New York. While the rest of the Defenders are also on their way to returning to the MCU, Matt’s major reveal is sure to have the entire city talking for a long time, especially with Fisk being forced out for the foreseeable future.
Both seasons of Daredevil: Born Again are now streaming on Disney+.
