James Marsden Stars in Wild and Hilarious New Reality Docu-Comedy JURY DUTY — GeekTyrant
Mar 14, 2023
A new trailer has been released for the new reality documentary-style comedy Jury Duty. This is such a different format from anything I’ve seen before. The show plays out like a typical American jury duty summons, but the best part of it is that everyone involved is an actor except for just one juror! They really put all their eggs in one basket for this series, as it seems like it could have ended up being boring or the person they set up could have had lesser reactions, but it looks like it turned out perfectly!Co-created by executive producers Lee Eisenberg (WeCrashed, The Office) and Gene Stupnitsky (Hello Ladies, The Office), the series chronicles the inner workings of an American jury trial through the eyes of one particular juror, Ronald Gladden: a solar contractor from San Diego, California.Actors in the series include James Marsden (X-Men, Sonic the Hedgehog), Alan Barinholtz (History of the World: Part II), Susan Berger (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Cassandra Blair (Hacks), David Brown, Kirk Fox (Reservation Dogs), Ross Kimball, Pramode Kumar, Trisha LaFache (Westworld), Mekki Leeper (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Brandon Loeser, Edy Modica (Made for Love), Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola (South Side), Kerry O’Neill (Murderville), Whitney Rice (Suits), Maria Russell, Ishmel Sahid, Ben Seaward, Ron Song, and Evan Williams. While Marsden is a recognizable face in the lineup, jury duty is the best setting for this setup, because even celebrities get called for the gig eventually! This really looks like it’s going to be hilarious, and I can’t wait to see how it twists and turns. The first four episodes of Jury Duty drop Friday, April 7th, on Amazon’s Freevee, with two new episodes releasing Fridays until the April 21st finale. Jury Duty is free to stream on Amazon Freevee in the US, UK, and Germany, and will stream on Prime Video in Australia and New Zealand.Check out the trailer below:
