Bruce Campbell Is Hidden Somewhere in the EVIL DEAD RISE Movie and If You Find Him You Could Win 50 Bucks — GeekTyrant

One character I’m not expecting to see in Evil Dead Rise is Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams as the movie puts a focus on a group of all-new characters. On top of that, Bruce Campbell has made it very clear in recent years that he has retired from playing Ash in any live-action projects. But, it turns out that Campbell does have a little cameo in the film!During a recent interview with Empire. director Lee Cronin teased that Bruce Campbell is “hidden in the movie somewhere.” He adds, “Bruce has a small presence in the movie. The first person to figure it out and send me a tweet, I’ll give them 50 bucks.”Cronin went on to talk about not having Ash in the movie: “It felt like in order to move the franchise somewhere new and to unlock the potential of the universe to tell more stories, it needed to break free [of Ash].”The filmmaker also talked about the energy of the horror film: “One of the things I knew was, this movie’s got to have energy. We’re coming out of a really successful spell for horror, where a lot of movies have played into the existential as maybe their primary drive. How I view the Evil Dead movies is [as] a popcorn-eating good time. Bringing it back to Evil Dead II, if there’s anything I would think about it would be the relentless creativity in that movie, to refresh the experience as you go.”In the film, “a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.”The movie was produced by Sam Raimi, who previously teased that the movie will be “terrifying” and “knock people’s socks off.” Bruce Campbell also said that Evil Dead Rise is going to be a “much more excruciating” experience from an emotional level, and you can feel that in this trailer! The movie stars Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings) and Lily Sullivan (Picnic At Hanging Rock).Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence), Morgan Davies (The End), and Nell Fisher (Splendid Isolation). Evil Dead Rise is slated to hit theaters on April 21, 2023.

Will Poulter Is Sensational In An Addiction Drama That Avoids Sensationalizing [Sundance]
