Jason Momoa Teases Major DC News Coming Soon, Is it the Long-Rumored Lobo Movie?
Mar 27, 2023
Big news is imminent involving Jason Momoa and DC Studios. On his Instagram Stories, Momoa shared a video of himself bursting with excitement immediately after having a meeting with Warner Bros. concerning his apparent future in the DCU. The actor is not offering any details whatsoever on what he’s so happy about beyond expressing how stoked he is for fans to soon find out what it is that he’s dying to share with everyone. That footage is now going viral as fans speculate what that might be.
“I got some really good news, great news at Warner Bros., amazing,” Momoa says in the video, filled with glee. “I wish I could tell you, but here it is. Peter [Safran], I love you! James [Gunn], I love you! David [Zaslav]… to the future, to the future!”

W’ell have to wait and see exactly what Momoa has in store, but given how tremendously excited he is, this really doesn’t seem to be for another return as Aquaman. It really seems more like Momoa has landed a dream role he’s been dreaming his entire life for, based on that response. And there just so happens to be a DC character Momoa’s had his eye on for years, making it very easy to speculate that this could be related to the long-rumored Lobo movie.

Is Jason Momoa Finished as Aquaman?
Warner Bros.
When it was first announced that James Gunn and Peter Safran were steering the ship moving forward at DC Studios, there were rumors that quickly emerged that Momoa would be involved with a Lobo project. He said at the time that a “DC dream” was coming true thanks to the leadership change, and when asked if he could be talking about Lobo, Momoa couldn’t give a clear answer, but agreed that it would be “amazing” to get that opportunity.
“Well I have to obviously blink, so there’s no way I can get out of this without blinking, but you know that would be amazing if that happened,” he told CBR. “I’m just happy that [James] Gunn is at the helm and [Peter] Safran, who is just like my heart. So I’m in good hands and I think comic book fans around the world are going to be very excited.”
In any case, Momoa isn’t quite finished with Aquaman just yet. He’ll be seen in the role at least one more time when Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is released. The sequel will hit hteaters on Dec. 25, 2023, following several delays.
