Dave Coulier Wants to Make Fullest House to Help Keep Bob Saget’s Legacy Alive

Apr 2, 2023

We may not have seen the last of the Tanner and Fuller families just yet. Back in the 1980s and 90s, Full House had dominated television as one of its most-watched programs before wrapping up its run after eight seasons in 1995. From 2016 to 2020, the sequel series Fuller House streamed on Netflix, concluding its own run after five seasons. There has not been any official indication in the years since that any more shows set in that world will be made, but some of the cast members are open to the idea, despite the loss of their beloved co-star Bob Saget.

Of course, Saget is very well known for his role as family patriarch Danny Tanner, which he played in both Full House and Fuller House. The funnyman sadly passed away last year, and this was particularly hard on his Full House co-stars as they’d stayed close and in touch ever since the original show wrapped. His presence would definitely be missed if a new follow-up show were to be made, as noted by cast members Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure. As reported by People, all four were present at ’90s Con where they spoke about potentially doing a third series.

“I would love to do Fullest House, where maybe it’s like all of us as adults, and we’re kind of like the Friends cast where we sit around and talk, and we share moments, and we keep Bob’s legacy alive,” Coulier said at the event, adding he would “love to do that” because of the close friendships he still shares with Sweetin, Barber, and Bure.

“They’re so much fun,” Coulier says of the group. “I can’t tell you how much we laugh. We just laugh and love each other. The days fly by, and you don’t want them to end because we have so much love for each other and so much fun. You either have that chemistry or you don’t. It’s pretty amazing.”

Fuller House Could Happen Some Day

Coulier also shared the story of how he first met Saget when he was first getting into the comedy scene at 18 years old. After meeting Coulier at a comedy club in Detroit, Saget gave him his home address in Los Angeles, inviting him to drop by whenever he ventured out Southern California. Coulier said Saget was then there for him when he made it out to the big city and needed a place to stay for a while.

“I couldn’t find an apartment, so I ended up sleeping on his couch for two weeks while he went on the road,” Coulier explained. “He didn’t know me! He just let me stay in his apartment, and then art imitated life. When we do Full House, I move into Danny’s house and sleep in the doggone alcove. And Bob would go, ‘This is really weird. ”

Other cast members have previously addressed the possibility of Fullest House, with Sweetin at one point pitching at as a Golden Girls style series that would follow Stephanie, DJ, and Kimmy in their golden years. John Stamos is a bit more hesitant to do another show without Saget, feeling that something would be “missing.” However, Stamos also said Saget had ominously joked that a Fullest House could be made some day with Danny Tanner in an urn.

“Bob had a joke, and it was like, ‘We did Full House, we did Fuller House, next is gonna be Fullest House.’ And he was very… he projected a lot,” Stamos explained to E! News last year. “But he said, ‘Fullest House would be like, you know, the family and me in an urn on the fireplace. And we talk to him and we hug the urn.”
