Ryan Gosling Could the Joining the MCU
Apr 8, 2023
Many acclaimed actors have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its birth, and Ryan Gosling could be next, with rumors suggesting the actor is a candidate to join the WandaVision director Matt Shakman’s upcoming Fantastic Four adaptation.
Since Disney purchased Fox, fans have been waiting for the introduction of the X-Men’s mutants and the first family of superheroes, following 2015’s forgettable and criticized version. Finally, in 2022 and thanks to Doctor Stranger in the Multiverse of Madness, we got our first look at Reed Richards in the MCU with the face of one of the fan-favorite stars to play him, John Krasinski.
However, it seems that the passage of A Quiet Place director through the world of superheroes was temporary, and we will soon be getting a new actor playing Mr. Fantastic. And Ryan Gosling could be the one, as insider Jeff Sneider revealed on The Hot Mic podcast:

“Then there’s the rumor of Ryan Gosling playing Sentry in the MCU. People tell me he’s like a Superman-kind of [character]. I haven’t heard anything like that, obviously. I’d heard some Gosling Fantastic Four stuff”.
Although Sneider’s words are not a confirmation and do not point directly to Richards, he is undoubtedly a character that will be central to the future of the MCU once he is introduced, being the central axis of The Fantastic Four and, as we already saw, a major member of the Illuminati.

What We Know About The Fantastic Four of the MCU
Marvel Comics
For now, Marvel Studios has kept almost every detail related to the film’s plot under wraps, with writers Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer working on the script already. But, thanks to Kevin Feige, we know it won’t be an origin story, even though it is their introduction to the MCU.
On the other hand, there have been many rumors regarding the actors who could play not only Reed Richards but also Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. As for Mr. Fantastic, names like Penn Badgley and, more recently, Adam Driver have been heard. For The Invisible Woman, Jodie Comer is the one who appears the most. While for her brother Johnny, Austin Butler has been the leading candidate.
We will have to wait a little longer for the most anticipated information to be revealed as the shooting date approaches. Fantastic Four will hit theaters in February 2025, right after Deadpool 3.
