Three Big YU-GI-OH! TCG Announcements for This Summer — GeekTyrant

Apr 9, 2023

Konami recently announced a few new Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products releasing this summer. First, we have details for a new core booster set, Duelist Nexus. This set will bring us new cards inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s like Crimson Dragon making its way from the anime to the game as a Synchro Monster. Inside will also find new cards for Infernoble Knights such as a new Link-1 Link Monster with 3000 ATK “that can reduce your opponent’s Spell/Trap effects to cinders!” Duelist Nexus will also feature new Dinosaur cards like a new Grenosaurus, Evolsaurs, and Nemleria. Finally, a new World Premiere theme will be included. To help make it even more fun, Duelist Nexus will be bringing Quarter Century Secret Rares to core sets. 25 of the 100 cards from the set will be available as this special rarity to celebrate 25 years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. You can grab Duelist Nexus starting July 28 with an MSRP of $4.49 per pack. Then, on August 25, Speed Duel fans are getting some love with Speed Duel: Streets of Battle City. This Speed Duel box will offer 8 more ready-to-duel decks featuring characters from the ever popular story arc, Battle City. There’s Mako Tsunami, Weevil Underwood, Espa Roba, Arkana the Magician, Seeker the Rare Hunter, Strings the Quiet One, Yugi Moto, and Joey Wheeler who inspired the decks. In addition to the decks, you’ll find eight Secret Rares (24 in total available), 20 Skill Cards, some extra Commons to help you customize your decks a bit, and four 2-player game mats featuring Yami Yugi and Arkana. It should be noted that 2 of the 8 Secret Rares in every box will be Slifer the Sky Dragon and Arkana’s Dark Magician. Speed Duel: Streets of Battle City will have an MSRP of $29.99.Finally, duelists will be able to grab the 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Heroes on September 8 with an MSRP of $21.99. This tin will feature doubled Prismatic Secret Rares and a bonus Quarter Century Secret Rare in every tin! There will be 300 cards in total for the set from various recent sets like Battle of Chaos, Dimension Force, and more. Each tin will include three 18-card Mega-Packs with each pack have two Prismatic Secret Rares, two Ultra Rares, one Super Rare, one Rare, and twelve Commons. The extra Quarter Century Secret Rare will be one of the 16 monsters that decorate the sides of the tin which will include some of the most famous monsters. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have an image of the tin, so we don’t know what they will be exactly. I think it’s safe to say Dark Magician, Stardust Dragon, and Elemental HERO Neos are shoe-ins though.
