Lead Actor In A Limited Series or Movie Emmys 2023 Predictions
Apr 12, 2023
After snagging the Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards earlier this year, you’d assume that Evan Peters is the frontrunner to take the Emmy Award for his role in Netflix’s blockbuster streaming hit “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” And the Television Academy has already demonstrated its love for the Ryan Murphy mainstay after he took the Supporting Actor trophy in this field for “Mare of Easttown” in 2021. But in a very wide open field, anything is possible.

The only other presumed nominee in this category is “Black Bird’s” Taron Egerton, who joined Peters in the equivalent SAG Awards field. Beyond that, the three other slots could be filled by “The Patient’s” Steve Carell, “Daisy Jones and the Six’s” Sam Clafin, Jesse Eisenberg, the Fleishman in “Fleishman is in Trouble,” “George and Tammy” star Michael Shannon, the Weird in “Weird: Al Yankovic Story,” Daniel Radcliffe, “White House Plumbers” star Woody Harrelson and Gotham Award winner Ben Whishaw for “This Is Going To Hurt.”
Anyone else? Do you mean deserving players such as “Welcome to Chippendales’” Kumail Nanjiani, “Love and Death’s” Jesse Plemons, or “A Small Light’s” Liev Schreiber? Good luck trying to crack one of those five nominee slots. Why this category still hasn’t expanded to six to seven nominees is a mystery. [Posted April 12]
