Alton Towers Fireworks 2023 Review

Nov 5, 2023

Alton Towers fireworks 2023 are here again and I didn’t just go on opening night, I went tonight (Saturday at the time of writing this) and I’m going tomorrow too, that should give you an idea of how good this years event is! Here’s our Alton Towers fireworks 2023 review.

If there’s one event that encapsulates the magic of visiting Alton Towers it’s the fireworks spectacular.
No matter if the season has been good or bad for Towers over the course of a year you can rest assured that the fireworks will blow you away and this year is no different.
I can hand on heart say that Alton Towers Fireworks are the UK’s best and biggest display, they eclipse the London new years fireworks by some margin in my eyes with the mix of storytelling, lasers, lighting, special effects and more.
This year was a debut of an effect that has never featured before at Alton Towers but as the show drew to a close it was hard to pinpoint just exactly what that was.
The reason for this was that there were water curtains with things projected on them (although I was convinced we’d seen that before one event) there were genuine explosions, I’m talking ground shaking explosions that I don’t recall seeing before but then there was special effects that interacted with the fireworks themselves which was beautifully choreographed.

What I enjoy about Towers is despite playing songs we all know and love they remix them in a way that makes them feel as though you’re hearing them for the first time.
Everything is split into themed segments but each segment has its own grand finale and that made up for the grand GRAND finale (the one right at the end of the show) being not as strong as it has been in previous years.
The whole fantasy fairytale adventure was promised in this years show but I felt the storytelling was a little weak in most areas until Emily Alton came along and blew us all away.
Emily Alton is the key character from the brand new Curse At Alton Manor ride that opened this year at the park.
Up stepped Emily in a segment that is sure to be everyones favourites, even if you haven’t been on the ride!
Before the event a press release was sent out which contained a comment from an Alton Towers spokesman which said:
As the theme park season draws to a close, Alton Towers Resort will host the UK’s biggest and most sensational display, using a combination of dramatic fireworks, ground-breaking special effects and a surprise element that has never been used in the history of the event.
The Alton Towers Fireworks Spectacular will take guests through a fantasy fairytale adventure with a wonderful bespoke composition of films score, pop and rock music. With the famous Towers as the backdrop, the 2023 show has been designed to evoke emotion and spark imagination.

When you usually read press releases words like sensational, spectacular etc are thrown around so easily and so carefree to hype up an event.
Take it from me, when Alton Towers say it, in relation to fireworks, they absolutely mean it!
Jubilee Fireworks are always behind the phenomenal Alton Towers fireworks events and every year they deliver and every single year they manage to make me relive a part of my childhood.
The only time I would ever go to Alton Towers as a child was during the fireworks. I’d go with my brother and a few other people, we’d do the rides and then watch fireworks and we did this for many years when I was growing up.
Every single soundtrack, every light in the sky, I’ll always remember growing up at Alton Towers and the magic that park brings me each and every time I see these displays.
Thank you to Jubilee and Alton Towers for allowing me to relive these moments each and every single year!
