Born Again’ Seasons 2 & 3
Nov 17, 2024
The Marvel Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again has had quite the tumultuous journey making its way to screens, but Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum is now so confident in the show that he believes it will go on for “multiple seasons.” After all manner of drama behind the scenes, in which the upcoming first season was cut down from 18 episodes to nine, Winderbaum explains that the actors’ and writers’ strikes allowed them to “reassess” what they had, ultimately deciding that the show would be at its “best” with fewer episodes.
During an interview on the YouTube channel @BrandonDavisBD, Winderbaum offered some exciting insight into their plans for Daredevil, even comparing the Marvel series to the monumental HBO hit Game of Thrones.
“It just feels like it is a great kind of first season, you know, to tee up this world that continues on into season two and hopefully Beyond. I think it’s a series that can run for multiple seasons. I think the version of New York that Dario’s come up with is extremely intricate it almost feels like a palace intrigue show. I’ve compared it to Game of Thrones in some recent interviews and I think that’s true, and when I say that it means that there’s just multiple factions vying for power in really complex ways.”
Fear Not, Daredevil: Born Again Will Be Just as Violent as Its Netflix Predecessor
Since being announced as a Disney+ release, many have wondered whether Daredevil: Born Againwill continue the violent retribution shown on Netflix. Or whether the likes of Daredevil and The Punisher will be watered down and made more appropriate for the House of Mouse. Well, it sounds like those seeking violence have nothing to worry about, as Winderbaum calls Born Again “one of the more violent things we’ve put on screen.”
“I will say this like I get asked a lot about, like, ‘well is it gonna be violent? Is it gonna be intense like the original series? Is there going to be, like, you know, is it a real TV-MA show?’ And the answer is ‘yes.’ But it, you know, it all comes at a cost. There’s really nothing extraneous about it. It is one of the more violent things we’ve put on screen, but it’s in service of kind of a greater tragedy that is really compelling.”

Daredevil: Born Again will take inspiration from the comic book arc of “Mayor Fisk,” which finds New York falling to The Kingpin as he becomes the city’s newly elected mayor. The story finds Matt Murdock working for Fisk, with the Kingpin of Crime using his talent for spin and false philanthropy to wage a war against costumed vigilantes.
The Disney+ Daredevil series will bring back several familiar faces. Much to the delight of fans. The series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, with the rest of the cast including Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, aka Bullseye, as well as Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, and Genneya Walton.
